Behavioral Health Programs Director - Full Time

Under the direct supervision of the CEO/Hospital Administrator, the Behavioral Healthcare Programs Manager will be responsible for daily management and operations of the Child/Adolescent Medical Psychiatric (CAMP) and Prader-Willi Syndrome (PWS)/Jumpstart programs. The BH Programs Manager will provide supervisory/clinical supervision to the program staff to ensure all services are delivered in the best interest of the patients. The BH Programs Manager is responsible for ensuring quality of care for all behavioral health program services including but not limited to, mental health counseling, behavioral analysis, recreational therapy, and programming coordination. The BH Programs Manager works within a multidisciplinary team to provide comprehensive and quality behavioral health programs for the individual patients, groups, and families. There will be a need to plan, develop and evaluate the service in response to consumer and service needs.

  • Consultation, training, and support to ensure compliance and program quality expectations are met.
  • Evaluate individual and overall team performance on a regular and ongoing basis; use collected data and information to make needed improvements including adjustments as needed to service providers’ caseloads and work assignments to maximize quality of care, and staff productivity.
  • Conduct semi-annual performance evaluations for programming team; proactively identify and resolve performance issues. Recommend employees as appropriate for recognition or professional development.
  • Ensure that team completes and maintains accurate records and reports regarding the patients’ histories and progress, services provided, and other required information.
  • Actively participate in the hiring and orientation process of new programming staff members.
  • Develop patient treatment plans based on research, clinical experience, and patient histories.
  • Review and evaluate patients’ progress in relation to measurable goals described in treatment and care plans.
  • Interview patients, review records, and confer with other professionals to evaluate individuals’ mental and physical condition, and to determine their suitability for participation.
  • Intervene as advocate for patients to resolve emergency problems in crisis situations.
  • Provide patients and family members with information about available resources, making appropriate referrals when necessary.
  • Modify treatment plans to comply with changes in patient status.
  • Coordinates with the multidisciplinary team and other department leaders to develop master treatment plan.
  • Attend training sessions to increase knowledge and skills.
  • Counsel family members to assist them in understanding, dealing with and supporting patients.
  • Participate in treatment planning and staff meetings.
  • Lead routine individual or family support groups; occasionally lead community-based support groups.
  • Respond to request for services in a timely manner.
  • Provide supervision and consultations if appropriate.
  • Be responsible for providing billing department with services rendered daily.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

Experience

  • Experience in cognitive rehabilitation and counseling patients with acquired brain injury
  • Strong background in healthcare.
  • At least two years of supervisory/management experience in human services.
  • Strong clinical skills and knowledge base of clinical care standards in the treatment of children, and families, including those families affected by multiple issues (abuse, neglect, domestic violence, chemical dependency)
  • Three (3)- Five (5) years direct patient care experience

Skills

  • Master’s Degree or PhD in Social Work, or one of the Behavioral Health /Social Services sciences.

Additional Information

LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION:

  • LCSW or equivalent.
  • Certified in AHA BLS/CPR
  • Must obtain current tuberculosis test within the first fourteen (14) days of employment and annually after that.
  • Maintain current certification in good standing during employment with this facility, or obtain it within thirty (30) days of hire
