Hospital Student Intern - PRN

Description

Under the Patient Advocate Manager’s daily supervision and direction of approved directors, the hospital student intern will observe and participate in assigned tasks, projects, and meetings. The Hospital Student Intern will be able to learn the operations and functions of the hospital from the perspective of different departments.

  • Hospital Student Interns will work on a variety of projects and tasks from a variety of departments, including but not limited to:
  • Observation
  • Administrative
  • Clerical
  • Verbal and digital communication with patients, families, and staff members.
  • Interactions from patients, families, and staff members.
  • Assisting in staff events such as education and engagement.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

Experience

  • Some pediatric experience is preferred but not required.
  • Experience with special needs is preferred but not required.

Education Required

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Currently enrolled in college with a degree in the medical/psychology field.

Additional Information

LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION:

  • Must have a valid Texas Driver’s License and dependable transportation.
  • Must be always knowledgeable of and practice Infection Control and Universal Precautions.
  • Must obtain a tuberculosis test within the first 14 days of employment.
  • Must pass a criminal background, misconduct registry, and OIG/GSA Sanction check.
