Registered Nurse(RN) - Full-Time
Description
Under the direction of the Registered Nurse (RN) Treatment Director the RN provides direct nursing care in accordance with the laws governing nursing practice.
- Ensures that the scope of duties and services provided are consistent and within the guidelines of the state nursing practice act
- Demonstrates knowledge of individual residents’ histories, current progress, and treatment goals
- Demonstrates ability to make appropriate nursing decisions when assessing residents
- Complies with established medication policies and procedures
- Effectively operates and troubleshoots commonly utilized equipment
Completes all required documentation in a timely manner
- Receives orders from mid-level practitioner/M.D. and fulfills orders per established policies and procedures
- Completes on-site assessments and reassessments on children per established policies and procedures to identify progress and trends that require intervention or reporting to the mid-level practitioner §748.571
- Documents the child’s diagnosed medicals needs §748.571
- Leads and/or participtates in the service planning process for the residents §748.571
- Directs the health care training of unlicensed caregivers, such as care of a permanently placed freeding tube §748.571
- Ensures that non-mobile are turned every two hours or according to physician orders and documented §748.571
- Performs on-site medical record reviews including compliance with written physician orders §748.571
- Monitors the compliance with the child’s service plan §748.571
- Documents outcomes for interventions used in the child’s care §748.571
- Demonstrates knowledge of and possesses the ability to perform basic drug calculations
- Participates in rounds when appropriate
- Accepts patient assignments as directed by the Treatment Diretor
- Coordinates and assigns care with ancillary clinical departments to provide optimal care
- Coordinates and oversees care delivered by C.N.A’s
- Actively seeks out opportunities for professional advancement and growth
- Actively participates in orientation of new employees
- Possesses the ability to recognize changes in patient status and ensures implementation of appropriate interventions
- Verbalizes the Registered Nurse role in patient emergency situations and cardiopulmonary arrest
- Demonstrate competency, prudent judgement, and self-control in the presence of children and when performing assigned responsibilities §748.507
- Report suspected abuse, neglect and exploitation the Texas Abuse and Neglect Hotline and to the designated administrator §748.507

Job Requirements
Experience
- Preferred minimum of at least two (2) years in a General Residential Operation/Residential Treatment Center
Education Required
- Licensed Registered Nurse in the State in which performing duties

- Be physically, mentally and emotionally capable of perfoming assigned tasks and have the skills necessary to perform assigned tasks §748.505
