We believe every person served has the right to live and work in an environment that enhances their quality of life. Outpatient Rehabilitation Program Case Study

A female patient at Nexus Neurorecovery Center received outpatient services for four months after transitioning from inpatient care. She initially came to campus for services five days a week, which decreased to three days a week as she adjusted to life at home. Attending from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., this patient participated in physical, speech, and occupational therapy, life skills programming, and vocational programming. At the completion of her outpatient services, this patient:

  • Improved her balance scores by 30%
  • Developed communication and reading skills with few modifications
  • Completed repetitive tasks with no modifications
  • Eliminated need for an assistive device and only required minimal guidance when walking (arrived on-campus in a wheelchair)
