Adolescent Neurorehabilitation Program

Nexus Neurorecovery Center offers a home-like setting for teenagers who have suffered a brain injury or other neurological illness or injury. Similar to our nationally recognized adult program, our residential program for adolescents is overseen by a trusted team well versed in the nuances of working with young adults. Considered a continuation from Nexus Children’s Hospital or another pediatric facility, we provide a positive, nurturing environment focused on mending minds.

Diagnoses Criteria

  • At least 13-years-old
  • Brain injury
  • Spinal cord
  • Dual diagnosis
  • Other neurological illness or injury

Special consideration is given for other diagnoses and ages on case-by-case basis

Individualized Treatment

  • Physical, occupational, cognitive, speech, music, and recreational therapy
  • Neuropsychological evaluations
  • Neurobehavioral counseling
  • Patient and family counseling
  • Substance abuse counseling
  • Day program and outpatient
  • Integrative Neurorehabilitation™ program
  • Supervised community re-entry outings
  • Age appropriate after hours and weekend activities
  • On-campus tutoring and transportation to Conroe ISD schools

Standards of Care

  • Neurology, neuropsychiatry, neuropsychology, and physical and medical rehabilitation
  • Medical directors and team on-site five days/week and on call 24/7
  • 24-hour nursing
  • Inpatient housing accommodations specific to adolescent needs
  • 24,500 square foot rehabilitation facility and gym
  • 26-acre residential campus
  • 38 therapeutic programming areas
