Our team customizes each patients’ experience with our program with the common goal of liberating them from mechanical ventilation.

Nexus’ pulmonary and respiratory team is directed by experienced board-certified pulmonologists in coordination with compassionate and competent registered and certified respiratory care staff vested in our patients’ successes. Working one on-one with patients, our team develops individualized, comprehensive respiratory care plans that maximize potentials for positive clinical outcomes.

Specializing in the management of chronic lung issues up to acute respiratory disorders associated with serious life-threatening conditions, our Pulmonary Management Program employs a centralized organizational structure while supporting evidence based respiratory care best practice guidelines in the areas of critical care.

Through the use of equipment like the Respironics V200 vent, Nexus’ pulmonary and respiratory team helps patients build up respiratory strength. Because the machine senses how much air a patient needs, breathing is easier and the vent is tolerable – equating to little or no sedation. Since patients can stay awake – and can even talk – while on the vent, they’re able to have short trials on lower modes to strategically wean them from the vent altogether. Excelling in mechanical ventilator liberation, Nexus is able to reduce patient anxiety and give vent patients a voice in their care.

  High flow oxygen therapy benefits patients with secretion management issues, while providing an oxygen enriched atmosphere. Compromised pulmonary patients, who are ventilator dependent and attempting to wean, may wean faster when high flow oxygen is used rather than the conventional aerosol method.

  High flow oxygen therapy shows efficiency in managing complex respiratory patients, reducing overall length of stay, preventing re-admissions, and providing patients with the ability to transition to the home or an alternate level of care with a high level of function.
