Once your loved one or patient is stable after suffering from an acquired or traumatic brain injury, the focus must turn towards meaningful rehabilitation. Nexus Health Systems’ nationally recognized Neurorecovery Center (formerly known as Touchstone Neurorecovery Center) allows non-medically complex patients recovering from any kind of neurological diagnosis to discharge from the hospital to a home-like environment. Situated on 26 acres, our campus features six resident homes, a 24,500 square foot state-of-the-art rehab facility, and 38 different programming areas. Our primary goal of targeted post-acute rehabilitation and therapy is to help our residents return to work, school, or home and lead productive lives through holistic treatment.
Regardless of the neurological impairment your family member or patient has suffered from, the world-renowned medical team at Nexus Neurorecovery Center looks forward to being part of his or her journey as we focus on mending minds.

Our holistic approach – including physical, medical, and vocational rehabilitation combined with cognitive, physical, speech, occupational, behavioral, and psychosocial therapies – affords our acquired and traumatic brain injury patients the opportunity to redevelop life skills necessary for a successful recovery and community re-entry. With a neuropsychiatry foundation, Nexus identifies the underlying neurological impairments and devises a plan for patients to develop compensatory strategies that lead to a more meaning life.
Reestablishing our residents’ quality of life and independence is an important aspect of what the Nexus team does at our Neurorecovery Center. After consideration of our patients’ individual needs and goals, our treatment team takes advantage of the features our 26 acre site offers and incorporates meaningful activities into daily therapies and rehabilitation. For example, residents work on motor skills while planting and tending to flowers just like others practice mobility and balance fishing at the pond in addition to our traditional rehabilitation practices.
To help our patients reach their goal of returning to work, vocational evaluations and rehabilitation are incorporated in treatment plans.
