Nexus Children’s Hospital announces a new partnership with Pediatrix Medical Group

Nexus Children’s Hospital announces a new partnership with Pediatrix Medical Group, a MEDNAX company. Facility CEO, Mary Harbeson, said, “We are very pleased to partner with Pediatrix as they are a highly regarded medical group and one of the nation’s largest providers of neonatal and pediatric services.”

Founded in 1979 as a single neonatology practice, Pediatrix has grown into a multi-specialty group. Providing physician coverage at Nexus Children’s Hospital, their clinical staff brings a high level of expertise and desire to support Nexus Health Systems’ mission: To return patients to lives of productivity and meaning.

Pediatrix also offers a wide network of pediatric specialists, which enables Nexus Children’s Hospital to continue treating all patients, even those with complex medical and behavioral needs. This expanded, more comprehensive coverage benefits all patients.

Nexus Health Systems’ President, Erin Cassidy, remarked that partnering with Pediatrix means greater continuity of care for pediatric patients in Texas. She said, “As a setting between hospital and home, our facility admits patients from most hospitals in the Houston area and beyond. In part, because of our relationship with Pediatrix, we’re able to provide patients and their families a continuum of consistent care.”

Pediatrix’s attending physicians augment the clinical team at Nexus Children’s Hospital, rounding on all patients and participating in weekly team conferences.

“We welcome this new partnership and look forward to improving patient outcomes and experiences together with Pediatrix,” explained Harbeson.
