Psychiatrists and behavioral health experts that help children, adolescents, and adults reach their full potential
Giving patients the tools they need to for overall wellbeing and happiness
Mental and behavioral health challenges can affect anyone — and they often become more complex during recovery from a serious injury or trauma. At Nexus, we recognize the importance of addressing both preexisting conditions and those that emerge during hospitalization. That’s why we offer a comprehensive range of psychiatric care designed to support healing on every level.
Our patients benefit from evidence-based individual and group therapies, including dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), family systems therapy with psychoeducation, and other behavioral health services. These therapeutic approaches, when integrated into an interdisciplinary treatment plan, ensure that care is comprehensive and personalized. At Nexus, we believe healing the whole person leads to better outcomes — because we specialize in mending minds.
What is psychiatry and how can psychologists help?
At Nexus Health Systems, psychiatry focuses on the evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment of mental health and behavioral health disorders — especially in medically complex individuals. Our board-certified psychiatrists are experienced in identifying the root causes of emotional and behavioral challenges, whether they stem from neurochemical imbalances, developmental disorders, chronic illnesses, or traumatic experiences.
Psychologists at Nexus complement psychiatric care by providing evidence-based psychological assessments and therapeutic interventions tailored to each patient’s unique needs. Working as part of an interdisciplinary team that includes medical doctors, neurologists, neuropsychologists, behavioral therapists, and rehabilitation specialists, our psychiatrists and psychologists collaborate to create integrated treatment plans that address both the psychological and physiological aspects of each patient’s condition.
Many of the patients we serve face co-occurring medical and behavioral diagnoses, such as severe autism, type 2 diabetes, epilepsy, brain injury, or Prader-Willi Syndrome, which can significantly impact behavior and mental health. Our approach recognizes the interplay between mind and body, offering whole-person care in a supportive, structured inpatient environment.
