Additional Therapy Certifications Benefit Residents

Nexus Neurorecovery Center physical and occupational therapists and speech-language pathologists have additional certifications that allow us to offer unique rehabilitation techniques proven to restore function and independence.

Neurologic Specialist Certification (NCS)
Certified by the Academy of Neurologic Physical Therapy, Nexus’ physical therapists with this certification specialize in evaluation and treatment of patients with movement issues caused by an injury or disease of the nervous system. Their advanced clinical knowledge, experience, and skill enable them to help patients improve mobility through special techniques.

Neuro-Integrative Functional Rehabilitation and Habilitation (Neuro-IFRAH®)
Neuro-IFRAH certified occupational therapists have a deep understanding of the body and its systems. Nexus’ certified therapists are trained to take the whole patient into view before initiating special techniques to increase function, and ultimately prepare patients to re-engage in daily activities. Our therapists develop creative, individualized, and goal-oriented rehabilitation strategies to remediate deficits.

Interactive Metronome (IM)
Nexus’ speech-language pathologists trained in interactive metronome (IM) help patients communicated through this therapeutic modality. Improving neurotiming, this tool helps improve speech, attention, concentration, processing skills, working memory, reading comprehension, and executive functions.

Lee Silverman Voice Treatment: LSVT-BIG
Nexus’ physical and occupational therapists with this certification are trained in intensive, whole-body amplitude-based training protocols to help Parkinson disease patients improve body and limb movement.
