Helping adolescents with co-occurring medical and behavioral or mental health conditions. Children and adolescents with complex medical diagnoses and behavioral challenges or mental illness often struggle to find comprehensive care. Many psychiatric hospitals in the U.S. cannot provide medical care, while a standard hospital cannot manage psychiatric disorders. That leaves patients and their families searching for care after being turned away time and time again.
The True North Program at Nexus guides adolescents through their mental, behavioral, and physical health struggles to get them back on the right path. By combining clinical methodology, rehabilitation techniques, and providing ongoing medical care as needed, True North helps heal the whole person and sets adolescents up to grow into confident young adults.
Though just the starting point, the program gives kids a true north — a point to strive towards. We’re here to care for adolescents as they work towards goals, or their summit, because we’re compassionately mending minds.
The True North Program multidisciplinary team provides medical care, psychiatric services, and rehabilitation to meet all patient needs within a single facility. By providing a psychiatrically informed and medically competent setting, Nexus has helped adolescents experience independence and reintegration home and into non-institutional environments.
The True North program provides a warm, friendly care environment for medically complex children. We often treat individuals with conditions such as trauma and brain injury, diabetes, and spina bifida — to name a few — who experience resulting behavioral, mood, and psychiatric challenges.
Nexus' NeuroContinuum sequence provides a range of care for those recovering from acquired or
traumatic brain injuries and other complicated illnesses or diseases.
