Founder and Executive Chairman

Dr. John W. Cassidy is certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology and brings more than 30 years of experience in clinical neuroscience and neurobehavioral rehabilitation. Founder of Nexus Health Systems in 1992, he currently serves as Executive Chairman. Earlier in his career, he was Psychiatrist-in-Charge and Co-Founder of the Neuropsychiatry Program at McLean Hospital; Chief Medical Officer and Founder of the Neurobehavioral Institute of Houston; Director and Founder of the Neuropsychiatry Subspecialty Services of Del Oro Rehabilitation Hospital; and Medical Director of Neurobehavioral Programs at Cypress Creek Hospital.

Dr. Cassidy has dedicated his career to advancing treatment for individuals with acquired and traumatic brain injuries. His comprehensive rehabilitative model addresses interpersonal, behavioral, cognitive, physical, and emotional needs to support successful recovery and long-term outcomes.

He earned a Bachelor of Arts from Hiram College and a Doctor of Medicine from the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine. He completed postgraduate training at Harvard Medical School and has spoken nationally and internationally on the sequelae and management of severe traumatic brain injury. He is the author of three books and numerous papers, book chapters, and editorials.

Chief Executive Officer

Erin Cassidy joined Nexus Health Systems in 2008 and has held progressive leadership roles across the organization, including Chief Executive Officer and Administrator of Nexus Specialty Hospital, Operations Specialist, and Assistant Administrator. She began her tenure at Nexus as a marketing liaison and previously held leadership positions in physician practice management in Sydney, Australia.

Erin holds a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology and Anthropology from Smith College and a certificate in Culture and Health Sciences from the Five College Consortium. She earned a Master of Science in Nursing from the University of Sydney and a Master of Business Administration with a concentration in Healthcare Management from Rice University.

Jason James, MD
Chief Medical Officer

Dr. Jason James is certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology in child, adolescent, and adult psychiatry. He specializes in the treatment of children and adolescents with complex medical, psychiatric, and psychosocial needs. He has extensive experience in program development and multidisciplinary leadership across emergency departments, pediatric hospitals, inpatient and residential treatment centers, juvenile justice settings, and outpatient care. Dr. James has held academic appointments at UTHealth McGovern Medical School and Baylor College of Medicine.

Chief Strategy Officer

Joel Talley leads enterprise strategy development across Nexus Health Systems, working closely with facility leadership to define growth priorities and align operational performance with system-wide goals. He oversees new program development and supports strategic planning across markets.

Joel joined Nexus in 2012 as a member of the finance team and most recently served as Vice President of Business Development. Prior to Nexus, he built nearly a decade of experience across finance and healthcare, bringing a strong operational and commercial perspective to system expansion initiatives.

Angie Crawford, RN
Chief Operations Officer

Angie Crawford is a healthcare executive with extensive experience in clinical and operational leadership across acute and behavioral healthcare settings. She brings deep expertise in operational performance, organizational restructuring, compliance, and team development.

Most recently, Angie served as Chief Operating Officer and Chief Nursing Officer at Eating Recovery Center, where she oversaw operations across 30 sites in nine states and developed a national training program for new employees. She has also held senior leadership roles with Haven Behavioral Health, Rogers Behavioral Health, Acadia Healthcare, and Shades of Hope, consistently improving financial and quality outcomes.

Angie holds a Master of Business Administration in Healthcare Administration and is a registered nurse.

Kim Fields leads the finance function for Nexus Health Systems, overseeing accounting, purchasing, financial reporting, and cost-containment initiatives. She develops performance measures that support strategic planning and operational alignment across the organization.

Kim has been with Nexus for nearly ten years and has worked exclusively in the finance department for the past five. Prior to joining Nexus, she served as a senior auditor at Deloitte and as a financial analyst for an Austin-based healthcare system. She holds a Master of Business Administration and is a Certified Public Accountant.

Chief Human Resources Officer

Kevin McAndrews has more than 30 years of experience in human resources leadership across healthcare, private equity, and publicly traded organizations. He joined Nexus Health Systems in 2015 as Vice President of Human Resources and now leads enterprise HR strategy and operations.

Throughout his career, Kevin has overseen national and international HR functions spanning more than ten countries. Under his leadership, prior organizations have received recognition including the Wall Street Journal Best Places to Work award, the International Spirit at Work Award, the Red Cross Platinum Award, and inclusion on the Inc. 5000 list.

He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology and Psychology from Loyola Marymount University and a Master of Science in Human Resources from Golden Gate University.

Yobi oversees development, implementation, and optimization of all IT platforms and healthcare systems across the organization. Prior to joining Nexus, he held senior technology leadership roles within several multisite healthcare systems.

With more than 25 years of experience in marketing, brand management, and organizational leadership, she brings a depth of expertise that informs every facet of Nexus’ brand and market positioning. 

Before joining Nexus, Tricia served as President of Design At Work, a full-service marketing agency, where she guided brand development for clients across multiple industries. She holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Houston.

Vice President of Community Impact and Strategic Partnerships

David Roberds-Roach leverages extensive experience driving strategic growth, payer engagement, and partnership development across behavioral healthcare organizations. He has led national marketing and referral strategy for multisite healthcare systems and has a strong background in clinical services and operational leadership.

He previously served as National Director of Marketing Services at Devereux Advanced Behavioral Health, where he oversaw marketing and partner development across a 12-state network. David holds a Master of Business Administration from Texas Tech University and a Master of Arts in Clinical Psychology from the University of Houston–Clear Lake. He is a Licensed Professional Counselor in Texas.

Rachel Beasley is a healthcare finance leader with more than 20 years of experience in revenue cycle management, grant accounting, and financial operations. She has held leadership roles at The Harris Center for Mental Health and IDD, Texas Hearing Institute, and Texas Children’s Hospital, where she led initiatives to improve financial performance and operational efficiency.

She holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting from Baylor University and is active in professional and community organizations, including the Healthcare Financial Management Association.

Vice President of Professional Relationships

Ann De la Rosa has more than 20 years of experience in clinical care, outreach, and relationship development within complex healthcare environments. She began her career as a staff nurse and later transitioned into clinical liaison and outreach leadership roles supporting case managers, physicians, and referral partners.

Ann has been with Nexus Health Systems for more than two decades and now leads national outreach, education, and patient evaluation initiatives. She collaborates closely with payers, workers’ compensation partners, and the military to develop solutions for medically and behaviorally complex patients.

She earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from UT Health Science Center in Houston and is a Certified Rehabilitation Registered Nurse.

Stephanie Ruktantichoke draws from more than a decade of experience in long-term acute care hospitals and progressive operational leadership roles. Prior to joining Nexus, she served as Executive Director of Rehab Operations overseeing eight LTAC facilities in the Houston area.

She holds a Bachelor of Arts and a Master of Science in Communication Sciences and Disorders from Baylor University and is a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives.

Emily earned a Master of Health Administration and a Doctor of Health Studies with an accounting specialization from Texas Woman’s University. Her work at Nexus centers on artificial intelligence, automation, and technology-enabled solutions that support patient care and operational performance.

Controller

Michael Connell leads accounting and financial reporting functions for Nexus Health Systems. He brings extensive experience in financial management, audit, and operational reporting across healthcare and infrastructure organizations.

Prior to joining Nexus, Michael held roles at Quanta Services, Inc. and Deloitte. He is a Certified Public Accountant and holds a Master of Professional Accounting and a Bachelor of Science in Corporate Communication Studies from the University of Texas at Austin.

Trevor Wilganowski has more than 10 years of healthcare talent acquisition experience and a strong understanding of workforce needs across clinical and operational roles. He is known for building relationships with candidates and leaders to support strategic hiring initiatives.

A native Houstonian, Trevor enjoys spending time with his wife and daughter. In his free time, he plays golf and coaches youth sports.

Field Controller

Tu Phan has more than 15 years of experience across hospitality and healthcare operations, with a focus on financial performance, operational efficiency, and technology-enabled improvement. He has led large, multisite teams and implemented process improvements that reduced backlogs and strengthened revenue performance.

Previously, Tu served as Director of Operations at Ontellus and as Vice President of Finance at Women’s Hospital of Texas. He holds a Master of Business Administration from the University of Houston – Victoria and a Bachelor of Science in Finance from the University of Houston.

Dorothy Alford is a nursing leader with more than 20 years of experience advancing clinical education, quality improvement, and patient outcomes. Dorothy earned a Doctor of Nursing Practice from the University of Alabama and holds multiple board certifications in nursing professional development and emergency nursing. She is committed to advancing clinical standards and supporting professional growth across the Nexus workforce.

Rachel Beasley is a healthcare finance leader with more than 20 years of experience in revenue cycle management, grant accounting, and financial operations. She has held leadership roles at The Harris Center for Mental Health and IDD, Texas Hearing Institute, and Texas Children’s Hospital, where she led initiatives to improve financial performance and operational efficiency.

She holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting from Baylor University and is active in professional and community organizations, including the Healthcare Financial Management Association.

Vice President of Professional Relationships

Ann De la Rosa has more than 20 years of experience in clinical care, outreach, and relationship development within complex healthcare environments. She began her career as a staff nurse and later transitioned into clinical liaison and outreach leadership roles supporting case managers, physicians, and referral partners.

Ann has been with Nexus Health Systems for more than two decades and now leads national outreach, education, and patient evaluation initiatives. She collaborates closely with payers, workers’ compensation partners, and the military to develop solutions for medically and behaviorally complex patients.

She earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from UT Health Science Center in Houston and is a Certified Rehabilitation Registered Nurse.

Stephanie Ruktantichoke draws from more than a decade of experience in long-term acute care hospitals and progressive operational leadership roles. Prior to joining Nexus, she served as Executive Director of Rehab Operations overseeing eight LTAC facilities in the Houston area.

She holds a Bachelor of Arts and a Master of Science in Communication Sciences and Disorders from Baylor University and is a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives.

Vanessa Blaze joined Nexus Health Systems in 2014 and provides strategic leadership across enterprise human resources operations. She has more than 20 years of HR experience spanning healthcare, oil and gas, pharmaceutical, and retail organizations.

Vanessa oversees HR programs that support workforce development, employee engagement, and organizational performance across Nexus facilities. She holds a Master of Business Administration with a concentration in Human Resource Management.

Emily Le has more than 20 years of healthcare IT leadership experience supporting large-scale operational and revenue cycle initiatives. She focuses on leveraging technology to improve efficiency, strengthen collaboration, and enhance clinical operations across the enterprise.

Emily earned a Master of Health Administration and a Doctor of Health Studies with an accounting specialization from Texas Woman’s University. Her work at Nexus centers on artificial intelligence, automation, and technology-enabled solutions that support patient care and operational performance.

Controller

Michael Connell leads accounting and financial reporting functions for Nexus Health Systems. He brings extensive experience in financial management, audit, and operational reporting across healthcare and infrastructure organizations.

Prior to joining Nexus, Michael held roles at Quanta Services, Inc. and Deloitte. He is a Certified Public Accountant and holds a Master of Professional Accounting and a Bachelor of Science in Corporate Communication Studies from the University of Texas at Austin.

Trevor Wilganowski

Trevor Wilganowski has more than 10 years of healthcare talent acquisition experience and a strong understanding of workforce needs across clinical and operational roles. He is known for building relationships with candidates and leaders to support strategic hiring initiatives.

A native Houstonian, Trevor enjoys spending time with his wife and daughter. In his free time, he plays golf and coaches youth sports.

Tu Phan has more than 15 years of experience across hospitality and healthcare operations, with a focus on financial performance, operational efficiency, and technology-enabled improvement. He has led large, multisite teams and implemented process improvements that reduced backlogs and strengthened revenue performance.

Previously, Tu served as Director of Operations at Ontellus and as Vice President of Finance at Women’s Hospital of Texas. He holds a Master of Business Administration from the University of Houston – Victoria and a Bachelor of Science in Finance from the University of Houston.

Dorothy Alford is a nursing leader with more than 20 years of experience advancing clinical education, quality improvement, and patient outcomes. She specializes in developing and implementing strategic initiatives that strengthen clinical performance and regulatory readiness across healthcare organizations.

Dorothy earned a Doctor of Nursing Practice from the University of Alabama and holds multiple board certifications in nursing professional development and emergency nursing. She is committed to advancing clinical standards and supporting professional growth across the Nexus workforce.

DeUnique Wilson brings nearly a decade of experience in finance and accounting, with a specialized focus on healthcare operations. She works closely with leadership teams to integrate financial and operational analysis that supports informed decision-making and process improvement.

DeUnique earned a Master of Business Administration from Capella University and is focused on developing operational efficiencies across both facility and corporate functions.

Bijoy Varghese has more than a decade of experience in practice management, provider consulting, and healthcare operations. He oversees patient-specific and payer contracting initiatives and works to align provider relationships with the needs of Nexus’ specialized patient populations.

Bijoy holds a Bachelor of Science in Healthcare Administration from the University of Illinois and a Master of Business Administration from Texas A&M University. He is committed to strengthening payer partnerships and supporting sustainable growth across the network.

Debra holds a Master of Business Administration and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. She has served in senior quality leadership roles and continues to advance high-reliability practices across Nexus Health Systems.

Prior to joining Nexus, Roger served as Chief Executive Officer of a long-term acute care hospital in Pennsylvania. He joined Nexus in 2022 and is focused on building high-performing teams and strengthening access to specialized pediatric care. He holds a bachelor’s degree from Southern Illinois University and a Master of Healthcare Administration from Baylor University.

Lisa holds a Master of Business Administration from Grand Canyon University and a Master of Arts in Speech-Language Pathology from the University of Akron. She is Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certified and is currently pursuing fellowship with the American College of Healthcare Executives.
